Charging your Jaguar I-PACE

Company News

jaguar i-pace

Did you know that 95% of journeys made by cars on UK roads are under 25 miles?* That means one single charge would be enough for Jaguar I‑PACE to cover most of your weekly trips.

Here’s everything you need to know about charging and maximising your driving distance in an all-electric Jaguar I-PACE.

HOW TO CHARGE YOUR I-PACE:

PUBLIC CHARGING

At the end of April 2023 there were 42,566 public charging points in the UK – from remote farm shops to motorway services – it’s easier than ever to charge on the go.

Jaguar I-PACE is compatible with two types of public charging points.

AC CHARGING:

The top part of the vehicle’s CCS inlet is used for AC charging. This is known as a Type 2 connector and compatible with your home charger, public AC charging points and domestic 3-pin plug sockets. AC charging points are located at destination charging stations such as retail parks, gyms and car parks. Jaguar I-PACE comes with an AC Public/Wall Box charging cable as standard.

RAPID DC CHARGING:

The lower half of the vehicle’s CCS inlet features two pins that combine with three pins above to provide rapid DC charging into the battery. The two lower pins can be accessed by removing the inlet’s lower socket cover. Rapid DC charging points are located on motorways and public roads.

HOME CHARGING

When it comes to charging your Jaguar, there’s no place like home. Simply plug in your vehicle on an evening – just as you would your mobile phone – and by morning you can be fully charged and ready to go.

For the fastest charging time at home, we recommend a professionally-installed home charger – also known as a wall box or home charging point.

Installation will typically require private off-street parking – such as a driveway or garage – to connect to your home’s electricity. Please check the suitability of your property with your chosen home charger provider.

  • Charging at home is not only convenient, the cost of electricity is less per mile compared to petrol and diesel. And you can reduce this further with an off-peak electricity tariff.

  • Our recommended home chargers come pre-approved by the government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and can be used in all weather conditions.

CHARGING SPEEDS**:

  • The average cost of a full charge at home is £13.50

  • The average savings compared to refuelling with petrol or diesel is £38.503

OUR RECOMMENDED HOME CHARGING PARTNERS:

In order to provide you with the most comprehensive charging capabilities and minimum installation lead-time for your area, we have chosen to partner with two OLEV-approved wall box providers. Both Pod Point and Andersen EV's fast and smart-enabled wall boxes come with a 3-year warranty as standard, and are recommended for their quality and reliability.

VISIT POD POINT

VISIT ANDERSON EV

If you reside in an apartment or rented housing, you might qualify for a government EV chargepoint grant that could provide you with a discount of up to £350 towards the expense of your charging point and the installation of a wall box by an approved installer.

THREE-PIN SOCKETS PROVIDE ADDED PEACE OF MIND

If you’re away from home for longer periods and a home charger is not accessible, the standard 3-pin plug socket used for electric household items will also charge your vehicle at a much slower rate. This is achieved by simply plugging in your Jaguar's optional Domestic Plug (Mode 2) charging cable.
